Berita is a Metro FM award winning vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, whose beautifully crafted album 'Conquering Spirit' is currently blazing the South African charts.
A true daughter of the motherland soil, she was born in Zimbabwe and then travelled across the seas settling in New Zealand with parents in her teenage years. At 19 secretively rebellious moves to pursue music sow her bid farewell and return back to Africa, where she settled in East London South Africa to start her studies at Walter Sisulu University and alongside her Music career began.
Introduced first to South African crowds through her SMQ6 hit Single Thandolwethu, Berita has become a household favourite, seeing renowned legendary DJ Oskido taking her music to the streets by dropping on electro influenced remix version of smash hit.
What started and as bask sessions, performing in community events and hospitals prepared her for bigger stages such as the Buyelekhayo music festival, Macufe Festival, Kalawa Bulawayo Homecoming invasion which she has graced confidently. Performing to a crowd of over 50 000 people at the FNB soccer stadium stands as one of her most overwhelming moments, however performing at the Commonwealth International Conference to influential women of all over Africa stands as her proudest moment As a woman I want to be a stern voice of the joys and pains of womanhood worldwide, the most loved songs in my album such as Kwehlule mama, Notyatyambo, Mwana wa mai are for women, and to able to share them with women from all around Africa fulfilled my greatest purpose a true African Beauty she smiles and a gap in between her teeth shows.
It's been a gruesome journey for the young superstar, who has had to juggle both university and music on the same go. It is an undeniable work ethic, discipline and determination that keeps her growing.
